Trip
Boss 2.0 Completely Redesigns Itinerary Module, Enhances Overall
Usability
Bartlett, IL--Creative
Algorithms, developer of award-winning Trip Boss(TM) travel manager, is
pleased to announce the release of Trip Boss 2.0. Trip Boss 2.0
completely redesigns the itinerary module and enhances overall
usability
throughout the application—all based on valuable customer
feedback. Plan itineraries, track expenses, log mileage, budget
vacations, keep a journal, rate places and more with this essential
travel manager for Palm OS®-based
handhelds and smartphones.
Expanded Itinerary Entry
New common custom itinerary entry screens have been created, complete
with additional applicable fields. Much of the new data can be
now selected by only a few taps or via the 5-way navigation, essential
for one-handed use on Palm®
Treo(TM) smartphones. Arrival and departure entries
have been conveniently combined into one entry screen, with pick lists
of 300+ default places including airports, airlines, car rental
agencies, and hotels. Trip Boss' flexibility remains intact as
the original, flexible itinerary screen is still an option for
capturing those less common itinerary items. Much of the
enhancements to the entry screens will surprise and delight the
user. "Trip
Boss 2.0 is a great example of the types of versatile solutions that
are enabled by the flexible and open Palm OS® platform," said Larry
Berkin, senior director of Ecosystem and Strategic Alliances at
PalmSource. "This application is designed to help all travelers use
their Palm Powered (TM) device to help effectively manage all the
logistics involved in planning and taking trips."
Redesign of the Itinerary List Layout
and Navigation
The new itinerary list is designed to make it easy to find the next
item on your destination. Easy to find icons, date headings, and
a filter allow a quick overview of the trip itineraries. The
description of each item can be customized to show up to three fields
of the user's choosing for each type of itinerary. Check off
items as they are completed and tap on added controls to quickly find
the next step of travel for the day. The current date/time is
conveniently displayed on the itinerary screen so the user has
the option to leave Trip Boss open as the travel day progresses.
Additional wording has been added in exports to the Calendar and 2.0 is
backward compatible with older itineraries.
Overall Enhancements throughout Trip
Boss
Trip Boss 2.0 improves navigation in all tabbed modules. Simply
tap on an item in the list instead the two-step operation of selecting
and then tapping a second details button. Scroll through the list
and select with ease, using the 5-way navigation. In addition to
enhancements to the 5-way navigation, responsiveness when switching
forms has improved, as well as speed and usability when scrolling
tables and importing contacts.
Add, edit, and find places with ease via the Ratings module. The
places database is now presented in a convenient filtered list.
Enter the first letter to quickly locate a place or place type.
Expense form layout has been improved as well as the addition of new
feature to lock the fields to prevent accidental editing. Notes
have also included in the export to Memo via CSV.
