Daughters
of Freya Group Read
Our friends at PDA247
are hosting a group read
of email- mystery "The
Daughters of Freya." We're
excited to participate in this new mode of storytelling and thought
we'd share it with you. Plus, it lends itself well to PDA reading.
"The story - about a journalist
investigating a cult in California - unfolds
through e-mail messages deposited in your inbox a few times a day over
the course of three weeks. It's a new way to use the Internet
as a storytelling tool, and the mystery has been getting a great
response from readers
and reviewers
alike. (You can read the synopsis here.)"
On Sunday, March 12,
the "Group Read" begins. The idea is to have a group
of people read the mystery at the same time, and discuss it in an
online forum as it unfolds. The Group Read will begin at 9:30 p.m.
(EST) on March 12, when the first installment of the mystery will be
emailed to readers. A forum will be set up on PDA247's website where
you'll
be able to discuss the
mystery while it happens. The first five
emails can be viewed on PDA247.
The authors
have been
kind enough to extend a special
price of
US$2.99 (regular $4.99) for
those who wish to take part. If you'd like to participate, you
can sign up here
any time prior to the start date."

New Reviews
Trip
Boss
"(A)n
indispensable travel program"
May C.
has reviewed
Trip Boss on her blog, maceyr's
palm discovery. Her entry is more than just a review,
it's a mini-tutorial, complete
with flash animations to show you how it
works. If you want to see a great overview of what Trip Boss can
do, please take a look at her write-up: "So, at first glance,
this program seems like an interesting trip program but when you start
to look deeper in it, you realize how feature rich it really is!..And
now, with version 2.0, this really makes it an indispensable travel
program."

Some of our favorite
websites to visit for PDA news, reviews, forums, and opinion:
Although we had visited May's blog "maceyr's palm discovery"
previously, we didn't have a chance to discover its true value until
recently. Her blog is atypical--her entries are not short
musings, rather, more detailed tutorials. May's blog is a must
read for those who really want in-depth information and analysis on how
to do things with your Palm, including some essential software.
May takes a very thorough look and writes a very detailed viewpoint on
such topics as "Why Palm?", "Getting Started", and "Palm
Problems." Maceyr's Palm Discovery is not just for newbie Palm
users, but also quite valuable for seasoned users as well. If you
want to learn more about fully using your Palm device, complete with
animations, be sure to give maceyr's
palm
discovery a look!
