Tips for New iPhone Developers #1 – Five Ratings Minimum to Get an Average

I find out a lot of things via Twitter (I follow a lot of iPhone and other mobile devs), plus by reading developer blogs and following recommended links. Today I learned something very valuable and rather than “tweet” about it, I decided to start adding short “tips” to our blog, so there’s an easier way to find and record them for future reference.

In order for an “average” to be calculated for your app, which shows up as a rating in your app’s listing on the AppStore, you must have been rated/reviewed 5 times or more. Four ratings (or reviews) or lower will show up if users tap on the ratings button, but do not show up in the description summary, nor the lists. Good to know.
